Deye company news: record growth, a 125kW hybrid inverter and new awards

17 October 2026 · Originally reported by Deye company news & updates

Deye Inverter Technology has had a busy half-year — and for South African homes and businesses choosing an inverter brand, the company's direction matters. Here's what's been happening at Deye recently, and what it means for the equipment we install.

Strong financial growth

Deye reported a 92% increase in total revenue for the first half of 2026, driven by a 244% surge in battery pack revenue (reported by TaiyangNews). Batteries have clearly become a much bigger part of the company's business — good news for a market like South Africa where battery backup is the main reason people buy solar.

New products at The Smarter E Europe 2026

At the Smarter E Europe show, Deye unveiled its 6th-generation residential hybrid inverter series, a 125kW three-phase industrial hybrid inverter supporting up to 10 MPPTs with EN 50549-2 certification from TÜV Rheinland, and the ORION E Series GE-F256 outdoor battery cabinet.

The 125kW unit is the interesting one for commercial sites: a single industrial hybrid inverter at that size, with that many MPPT inputs, suits large rooftops with multiple roof faces — schools, factories and retail buildings. Commercial systems of this scale are quoted after a site visit and load monitoring rather than from a website, but it widens what's possible with a single brand across an install.

Certifications and awards

Deye received the EUPD Top Brand PV 2026 award globally for both inverters and energy storage, and earned Italian CEI 0-21 certification from Kiwa for its SG06 series (3.6–10kW) residential storage. Certifications like these are part of why Deye equipment appears on municipal approved-inverter lists — a requirement for legal grid-tied solar in Cape Town.

Expansion

The company formed a distribution partnership with Tank-Weld Metals to expand across the Caribbean and Latin America, and construction is progressing on its manufacturing base in Johor, Malaysia — part of a push to build supply outside China. A broader manufacturing footprint helps supply resilience, which South African buyers felt the absence of during past global supply crunches.

What this means for your installation

We fit Deye hybrid systems across our range — from 5kW single-phase homes to 50kW+ commercial plants — alongside SIGENERGY, Sunsynk, Luxpower and Solis. The brand's growth, awards and expanding certification list all point the same way: a well-supported, widely-available workhorse with a large installed base in South Africa.

If you're weighing Deye against SIGENERGY or another brand, the honest answer depends on your house, your budget and how you plan to expand. Size a system on your own bill and compare the brands line by line before you decide.
